Over the past few months I’ve been sharing about the importance of creating a toolbox of exercises that you can use to prevent injury as well as help recover from injury.

These are exercises that require a low level of effort but have a huge impact.

As a physiotherapist, you might assume I’m immune to injury because I know the best practices for prevention. But let me assure you — no one is immune to pain and injury, and this vulnerability only increases as we age.

This hit home with me a few weeks ago when my vet came to see my horse. While trying to get my horse to cooperate and wranging the dog from causing distractions, I inadvertently ended up in a very awkward position.

A couple of hours later, when I couldn’t stand up due to the pain, I realized I’d injured myself.

These are the moments when having a toolbox of goto exercises is so important. Because I’ve taken the time to work through these exercises when I wasn’t injured, I know them by heart.

I understand how they should feel and what works best for my body. Just two days into my injury, I was already feeling much better.

The key to my quick recovery was listening to my body, resting when necessary, and utilizing my toolbox of corrective exercises plus exercises from my core activation program.

This month’s offering for YOUR toolbox Is the Glute Max. Give it a try and see if it’s a tool worth hanging on to….

Strong glutes can alleviate lower back pain and help reduce knee pain by stabilizing the pelvis. Strengthening the Glute Max muscle can improve speed, power, and efficiency in various physical activities and help prevent injury.

NOTE: For most people this exercise is most needed on the right side, but if you know that your Glute Max is a little lazy on the left, go ahead and give it a try on the left and see what happens.

My CORE ACTIVATION PROGRAM is great for people who struggle with how to engage their core properly, suffer from pelvic floor tightness, or weakness, or just feel their back needs more support.

If you want more information about it, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL and I’ll send you information along with a discount code.

Stay strong!
